Domestic violence protection order – I was one of the first in Lithuania to win a case annulling the issuing of such orders and convinced the court that there were signs of their unlawfulness!

The path to having such orders declared unlawful has lit up in new legal colours, and at the same time I have discovered a new form of blatant discrimination against men!

The “abuser” label has been “peeled off” my client in the case – we will turn a new page in other legal proceedings!

The first case I have handled (it took us a little over a month from the entry into force of the new procedure) in which the judge recognised that the domestic violence protection order issued against my client was unfounded and unlawful!

A long and difficult divorce process lies ahead in the case, but I will not allow my client's “image” to be built in it as that of a possible abuser; this house of cards, strategically built together with professional lawyers, has collapsed, and now, with the help of such a favourable ruling by the court, we are likely to prove that legal proceedings over unfoundedly false calls to the police, 15 days of not seeing the children, the stress suffered and the humiliation of dignity in public can come back like a boomerang.

This law is not only defective but also hides other not particularly “palatable” aspects aimed exclusively against men.

Here's one of them – who do you think have become the experts in disputes of this kind? Why, “Women's Information Centres” – can they objectively assess anything? Hellooo? Are you serious?

Consultants of non-governmental women's organisations have become experts against men?

And did the legislator make sure that such “expert assessments”, which go to the courts, would also be drawn up by men about women? No! There you go – an example of discrimination at the highest level.

And the court in the case upholds my position and says that there is no basis whatsoever for overemphasising these “expert assessments” and that they cannot be given any priority or special weight.

And if you saw those expert assessment certificates, more than one of you would clutch your head. I could “churn out” a ton of them a day, and in this case the state, I have no doubt, also pays these consultants generously…
